Talented teens prepare to kick-off the game with a hi-energy tribute to American dance
SAN JOSE, CA–November 5, 2018–Starting Arts Dream Team (www.startingarts.com) prepares today for their first-ever Golden State Warriors pregame appearance on Tuesday, November 13. Select Dream Team members will perform a lively dance routine, highlighting decades of American dance, minutes before the game begins at 7:30p.m. at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.
Fitting with game night’s military appreciation theme, 28 Dream Team members will dance through the ages featuring swing, disco, and hip hop. Over 100 Starting Arts supporters will be in the audience to cheer on the group as they perform the six-minute routine, choreographed by Starting Arts artists, Amber Ancona and Lauren Meyer.
“The Dream Team is beyond thrilled to have been selected for this opportunity. The students have been working for several months and look forward to being on the court dancing together,” said Alicia Sanders, Dream Team Program Director. “I’m so pleased that they have the chance to showcase their talents in a new arena and am looking forward to cheering them on from the stands!”
The team performs throughout the Bay Area, both onstage and in the community. In addition to this upcoming Warrior game performance, they have performed at various local sporting events, including San Jose SaberCats and San Jose Giants games.

About Starting Arts (www.startingarts.com)
Located in San Jose, Starting Arts is a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that actively promotes all arts disciplines: Dance, Theatre, Music, Visual Arts and Film. Starting Arts was inspired by the simple observation that something special happens when young people connect with the arts. A unique learning environment materializes where students think and communicate through images, music and movement. Arts education creates opportunities for students to develop key life skills and evolve into confident, articulate, team-conscious members of our communities. We believe that an education without arts exposure is incomplete and falls far short of extraordinary. That unwavering belief has translated into a mission: to make arts education accessible to all students in Bay Area schools. Since its inception in 2000, Starting Arts has served over one hundred schools.
