SA Studio productions are open to all students in the age range given- You do not need to be affiliated with a specific school. Everyone who registers is in the show, but auditions are held on the first day of rehearsal to determine who will play which role(s). You MUST register ahead of time to receive audition information and participate on the first day.

All regular weekly rehearsals take place at the Shared Arts Center: 99 Notre Dame Ave in Downtown San Jose

Please note: we have changed our refund policy. Full refunds will no longer be processed. All refunds must be requested prior to the start date. Refunds requested between registering and the start date of the program will receive a refund of 50% of the registration fee. Please be sure all dates work for your schedule before registering! You will be asked to agree to this policy when registering.

Absence Policy

Please note: students are expected to be at all Wednesday and Saturday rehearsals. They can have a maximum of 3 absences/late arrivals before it could affect their role (with on stage responsibilities being given to other performers) or depending on exactly how much was missed, it may mean being dismissed from the program. All tech rehearsals and performance dates are MANDATORY for the safety of the cast as we add in many new elements that week.

Winter 2026/2027 Musical

The African savanna comes to life onstage with Simba, Rafiki and an unforgettable cast of characters as they journey from Pride Rock to the jungle and back again in this inspiring, coming-of-age tale.
-Grades: 4th-8th grade
-Start Date: November 4th
-Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 5:30pm-7:30pm and Saturdays, 1pm-4pm
No rehearsals Nov 11, Nov 25, Nov 28, December school break
-Mandatory Tech Week: February 1st-3rd
-Mandatory Performances: February 4th-5th

Spring 2027 Musical

The Addams Family is a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and a dilemma that’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family—a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before—keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
