SA Studio productions are open to all students in the age range given- You do not need to be affiliated with a specific school. Everyone who registers is in the show, but auditions are held on the first day of rehearsal to determine who will play which role(s). You MUST register ahead of time to receive audition information and participate on the first day.

All regular weekly rehearsals take place at Starting Arts: 525 Parrott Street in San Jose.

Please note: we have changed our refund policy. Full refunds will no longer be processed. All refunds must be requested prior to the start date. Refunds requested between registering and the start date of the program will receive a refund of 50% of the registration fee. Please be sure all dates work for your schedule before registering! You will be asked to agree to this policy when registering.

Absence Policy

Please note: students are expected to be at all Wednesday and Saturday rehearsals. They can have a maximum of 3 absences/late arrivals before it could affect their role (with on stage responsibilities being given to other performers) or depending on exactly how much was missed, it may mean being dismissed from the program. All tech rehearsals and performance dates are MANDATORY for the safety of the cast as we add in many new elements that week.

Spring 2026 Musical

When powerful newspaper publishers raise prices at the newsboys’ expense, the charismatic Jack Kelly rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions. Together, the newsies learn that they are stronger united and create a movement to fight for what’s right.

-Grades: 5th-12th
-Start Date: February 11th
-Rehearsals: Wednesdays- 5:30-7:30pm and Saturdays- 1pm-4pm
No rehearsal February Break. There WILL be rehearsal during Spring Break. 
-Tech Rehearsals: April 13-15
-Performances: April 16-18
-Tech/Performance Location: Hoover Theatre in San Jose
-Cost: $520
