Follow the instructions below and make sure to register your child to reserve your spot on the roster and receive important production information.

The Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

This is a full production with sets, costumes, professional light and sound design, and great performances for family and friends. Commitment to the rehearsal days/times is important. Students must stay for the entirety of each rehearsal and can miss a maximum of 3 rehearsals (2 would be preferred). Tech Rehearsals/Performances are mandatory.

-Rehearsal Days/Times: Mondays AND Thursdays, 3:05pm-4:35pm

-Weekly Mon/Thurs Rehearsal Location: Country Lane

-Tech Rehearsals/Performance Location: Moreland Middle School

-Mandatory Tech Rehearsals: Feb 23-25, 3-4 hours long

-Mandatory Performances: February 26th – 27th, 2026

-Cost: $290

An additional Paypal/Credit Card service fee will be added if you choose the PayPal/Credit Card payment option. Your registration will be complete immediately if you pay by credit card. If you will be mailing a check without the fees ($290) to Starting Arts, choose the “Mail a check” option at the end of the payment process (you will be given the mailing address). If you are paying by check, your information is in our system once you submit it, but your registration will only be considered complete when the check is received.
