Meet The Instructors

Robin Lacey

Robin’s love for teaching predates her love for saxophone as she first discovered her passion for teaching as a ski instructor in high school. She believes that all children are able and should learn a variety of instruments as part of a well rounded education.

Later she earned her Bachelor’s Degree with Honors in instrumental Music Education at Roberts Wesleyan College, NY. There she specialized in saxophone while also continuing her piano studies. Robin not only excelled in teaching but also in performing, winning 1st place in the Roberts Wesleyan College concerto competition. After undergraduate studies, Robin relocated to California where she taught a full schedule of private piano and instrumental students, who perform tri-annual recitals for the elderly community in San Jose.

Robin continued to pursue both saxophone and music education at San Jose State University, earning a Master’s Degree in saxophone performance under the direction of Dr. Michael Hernandez. Robin has been teaching piano and saxophone in the Bay for the past six years and frequently coaches woodwind sections of school bands as well. As a Kindermusik certified teacher, Robin is passionate about teaching music to all ages!
