STARTING ARTS

STUDIO PRODUCTIONS AND PLAYS

SA Studio productions are open to all students in the age range given- You do not need to be affiliated with a specific school. Rehearsals and performances in the fall will happen virtually. Everyone who registers is in the show, but auditions are held to determine who will play which role(s). You MUST register ahead of time to receive audition information and participate on the first day.

Virtual Plays and Musicals

Forced to remain in isolation until further notice, four tragic Shakespearean characters make time to join a self-help group, virtually of course! Tragic characters Ophelia, Lady Anne, Romeo, and Juliet seek support at the Tragedians Anonymous group led by Prospero, where the meeting’s theme is, “Identify those who wrong us and those who we wrong.” In this smart, laugh-out-loud comedy that’s also quite educational, the characters proceed to confront the other characters in their plays.

This is a virtual production with rehearsals happening once a week on zoom. The final week will be a recording week where the director will guide and record students performing their roles. Then, the final the videos will be professionally edited together to create the final product. As the “performance,” Starting Arts will host a virtual watch party so students can invite friends and family (from anywhere!) to see their talent and hard work on film.

Alien host of “Earth Talk Tonight,” Valendia Vortex, and her rambunctious invertebrate sidekick, Troq, are on the search for superior beings on the planet Earth.  So they call upon the monsters of the world to prove their universal mettle!  But vampire “Vladdy” is plain old batty.  Frankenstein is frenzied.  Wolfie is just a hyper pup.  And Invisible Woman’s extraordinary gift is really no gift at all!  Making matters more embarrassing for these mediocre monsters are their respective special guests, each more vexing than the monsters themselves.  It turns out that some special powers aren’t as special as they seem and that intelligent life is in the eye of the beholder.
