The Time Machine
Fall 2007

Dealing with a subject such as the potential of humankind in a play such as "The Time Machine" is made all the more poignant when you see it acted by those we regard as our future. The questions dealt with in the play echo in the children performing it: Will they reach their potential? Exceed it? Or take it in a direction we could never have dreamed? In the play Filby and Mrs. Watchett find one possible answer on their journey, but it is up to those in the present - both on stage and off - to either ensure or alter that future that lies in wait for them.
"The Time Machine" is certainly an interesting production to tackle with a group of middle schoolers, but this particular group at Peterson has made directing it an absolute joy. I thank each and every one of them for their hard work, dedication and creativity, and I thank all of their parents and families for their support. Enjoy the show!
