Snow White
Spring 2006

This is the third play I’ve been able to direct at Westwood. It has been a lot of fun to see some of these students grow over the last couple years. I have really enjoyed working with your children, I always look forward to coming to rehearsal. I also want to thank you, the parents, for all of your help and support. We could not do what we do without you.
When I found out I was going to be directing this show I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to give the students an experience in theater that they would not normally find. I found a script of Snow White that I felt let me accomplish this goal. The story is the same story we all know and love. It’s the way in which we tell it that I feel is unique. The script was written in such a way as to let us be more free and experiment with their characters. They have willingly taken on the many challenges of being in a play and have had lots of fun along the way. I hope that you and your students can leave with a greater appreciation for the arts and the joy that they can bring into our life.
Thank You,
Tim Nielson
This was the first year that Westwood had a dance team, and I am extremely proud of how hard they’ve worked. There’s been a lot of streching, counting, and dancing, but even more smiling and laughing. It has been a pleasure teaching the students. I only hope they’ve enjoyed it as much as I have.
