The Trial of Goldilocks

There are two reasons why The Trial of Goldilocks is an especially special show. The first is because this show signifies the beginning of Braly Elementary's fledgling Theatre program. The second is because this show was the first to ever be produced by Starting Arts, marking the beginning of the organization as a whole. In choosing this play for Braly Elementary, it was our hope that the Theatre program here would continue to grow with the same speed and success as Starting Arts has grown in just a few short years.

All of the students, whether they are in the Dance class or the Theatre class (or both!), have been working incredibly hard to put together this production. Kevin Hammond creates coreography that is both fun to perform and visually appealing to watch, yet is challenging to the dancers. The Trial of Goldilocks was an ambitious and demanding choice because of its length and the difficulty of its vocabulary; however, the Theatre students exceeded my expectations with their ability to grasp the language and tone of the play. Both classes have had fun and have also had the opportunity to express themselves creatively through the arts. More importantly, though, they are learning firsthand the value of commitment and responsibility, two key concepts essential not only to produce a show successfully, but to achieve anything successfully.

Thank you for your continued support of the arts in eduction!

And now...
...on with the show!
