Starting Arts is Back at Don Callejon!

Starting Arts is back for another exciting session of after school classes. This fall there will be two after school classes: Junior Theatre for grades K-2 & African Music & Dance for grades 1-5. Classes start the week of October 15th and end the week of December 10. Junior Theatre starts on Monday, October 15 and is a fun introduction to theatre through theatre games and improvisation. African Music & Dance begins on Wednesday, October 17 and is a wonderful new program, piloted last year, where children can explore traditional African dance, music, art, literature and cultural awareness.

Junior Theatre:
Mondays 2:15-3:45 pm
Location: Stage
Grades: K-2

African Music & Dance:
Wednesdays 1:30-3:00 pm
Location: Stage
Grades: 1-5

Please Note: We will not have any classes on Monday, November 12 and Wednesday, November 21 because there is no school.

Students choosing to enroll MUST commit to respectful behavior and regular attendance. Like team sports, performing arts requires participation, dedication and teamwork. Repeated unexcused absences or poor attitude may result in student dismissal.

The deadline for returning enrollment forms is Friday, October 12. Enrollment is limited; however, classes need a minimum of 20 students to cover costs. Overbooked classes will be filled by lottery. Refunds will be made if classes are unavailable.

The cost for enrolling is in one session of classes is $125 & $250 for two classes. Partial financial scholarships are available to students who qualify for “free and reduced lunch”.
