FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: STARTING ARTS PRESENTS “RECALL - THE MUSICALL!” SANTA CLARA, Calif., October 8, 2003 – On Wednesday, October 29th, Starting Arts is sponsoring a benefit supporting the arts in education. This event will be held at 8pm at The Theatre on San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose, and will feature a professionally produced original musical called Recall, a tongue-in-cheek spoof on the California recall election process. The music and libretto for Recall is composed by Bob Frazier, a highly-praised jazz musician and instrumental music teacher with Starting Arts, with special musical arrangements by Jeff Mayer. Recall is directed by Michael Boston, another gifted member of the Starting Arts team, and a published playwright known for his role in creating Benjamin Corey Performing Arts Magnet School’s prominent drama department. Recall is written by the hilariously talented comedian Sean O’Kane, Bob Frazier and Mike Boston. It will feature cameo appearances by various notable candidates such as “Arnold,” “Super Cruz,” and many more, along with a sprinkling of song and dance numbers choreographed by the exceptional Dottie Lester White and Bud Ayers and a play-by-play commentary from “Vince Scully,” the voice of the Dodgers. You may think you know how the Recall turned out but you have to come see what really happened. It’s going to be a laugh-filled evening with an eye toward a great cause, so please contact Starting Arts to find out how you can join in the fun! Tickets are $45.00 (adults 21 & over). To purchase tickets please call Ann Watts at 408-244-9792 or email ann@startingarts.com.
