What should I do if my child is sick or has to miss class? If your child was absent during the school day, you do not need to call. Otherwise, please contact us via phone (408-492-9022). Can I contact my school office and leave messages for Starting Arts? You will be asked to contact Starting Arts directly at (408)492-9022. School office staff do not handle messages for Starting Arts. How do I contact my child's class instructor directly? You may talk to the instructor directly after class, or leave a message for the instructor at the Starting Arts office at 408-492-9022. What happens if my child misses too much class time, or has poor behavior? They may be dropped from their class. My child's activity schedule conflicts with the rehearsals for the performance. Can my child still perform if he/she misses rehearsals? Rehearsal/performance schedules are sent home the first class of each session, well before the session end production is finalized and cast. This information will also be posted on the www.startingarts.com Bulletin Board for your school. Please make sure your child is available for all rehearsals/performances before allowing them commit to roles in the production. Should unforeseen conflicts arise, contact your Starting Arts teacher as soon as possible directly by e-mail or through the Starting Arts office at (408)492-9022. Can I sign up my child for a class now and pay later? Class space can only be reserved when payment is received at enrollment. What methods of payment do you accept? If you enroll electronically at www.startingarts.com you may pay directly from your checking account or use your credit card through PayPal. If you choose to use the paper enrollment form, we accept checks and money orders, payable to "Starting Arts." We do not accept cash. My child needs to withdraw from their Starting Arts class, can I get a refund?Refunds will be issued if you notify Starting Arts before classes begin, however no refunds will be issued after the first class. Are scholarships available? Every school has different ways of dealing with this situation. Please contact your school principal. How can I help the Starting Arts program? Register with eScrip and/or sign up for a low interest eScrip VISA Platinum card. A percentage of the money you spend will be donated by merchants to Starting Arts. Donation of funds, goods and services are much appreciated. Volunteering time is another great way to help. We are always looking for parent volunteers to build and paint sets, coordinate costumes/ props, carpool performers to rehearsals, collate programs, usher shows etc. Please contact Ann Watts or your Starting Arts teacher for more details.
