Vivian Giourousis

“Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood.” - Fred Rogers

Vivian GiourousisVivian Giourousis has been voraciously active in film and theater for over 10 years producing an extensive body of work. She is a graduate of San Francisco State University, where she earned a B.A. in Cinema Studies with an emphasis in writing and directing. She later spent over 2 years studying “method acting” in an intensive program conducted by notable acting coach Shelley Mitchell of the Actor’s Center of San Francisco. She continued on to study with other acting teachers, including Oscar winner Alan Arkin in a special workshop focused on improvisation technique. Dexterous with creative talent,  Vivian spent time as an apprentice screenwriter for Hollywood filmmaker Mark Hanlon and has worked as an editor for internationally screened independent feature films. While she has acquired much experience and a high standard of arts education to date, Vivian continually studies with film and theater mentors so to perfect her skills as a professional artist and acting teacher. She is deeply inspired by the delight and joy she witnesses in children when teaching them the art of acting. She firmly believes the arts benefit a child's overall education by unlocking abilities and potential that may not be accessible through other means. She is dedicated to helping each student find their creative potential in a warm and fun classroom setting.
