Mary Jo Blazek

Mary Jo has a long history working with children. After starting a family she decided she needed a career that fit better with raising her children. She left the corporate world and began a search for her passion. She wandered into a storytelling class at a local college and there she met many others that were on there way to a degree in Early Childhood Development. This interested her and she began taking classes as well. Soon she had enough added education to qualify to become a preschool teacher.
In the past 18 years she has worked in many capacities working with children. Including, teaching, owning her own home daycare center, as well as organizing children’s activities as a children’s director at Stone Church of Willow Glen and Ronald McDonald House at Stanford.
Mary Jo believes in the natural talents possessed by all children and enjoys helping them to express it. She has taught the Little Picasso art classes at Arthouse Kids for the past 3 years. There she inspires very young children to explore the wonders of art which encouraging lifelong learning through creativity.
Outside the classroom she enjoys spending time with friends and family including her two year old granddaughter, Ella. During the Christmas holiday season you could see her donning a white wig and red dress as Mrs. Claus.
