Melissa Munich
"The theater is so endlessly fascinating because it's so accidental. It's so much like life.” –Arthur Miller

Having spent the past 5 years at UC Irvine, Melissa is glad to be back in the Bay Area theatre community. Having fallen in love with anything involving theatre in high school, she spent her time at college pursuing her three biggest interests: directing, writing, and producing. Since there weren’t as many opportunities for these areas at her college, she decided to create them. In her second year she co-founded a playwrighting group in which she took on the roles of playwright, director, producer, and technical director during its three year tenure. However, her most rewarding experience was in directing and producing V-Day her senior year as it raised over $7,000 to fight violence against women both locally and internationally and transformed the lives and beliefs of all that were involved in it.
With degree in hand, Melissa now plans to pursue directing and other theatre opportunities in the Bay Area, including Starting Arts. As someone who has also wanted to teach from a young age, she is excited to be working with students in the arts any way she can. While she eventually plans to teach high school drama and English, for now Melissa cannot wait to see what other adventures are in store for her, both inside and outside that wonderful place we call the stage!
