Dottie White
"The Art of Dance requires the discipline of body and mind."
Dottie has over 40 years of professional dance experience that includes: performing, choreographing, teaching, and assisting with stage management of musical theatre productions.
Ms. White's Broadway dancing credits include: Katherine Hepburn’s Coco and Ruby Keeler’s No No Nanette. She has performed with touring companies of Hello Dolly, Cabaret, Mame, No No Nanette; as well as industrial shows sponsored by Milliken, Cadillac and Chevrolet. Choreography credits include American Musical Theatre of San Jose (AMTSJ) productions of Phantom of the Opera, Children of Eden, South Pacific, The Music Man, No No Nanette, Fiddler on the Roof, A Little Night Music, and City of Angels. Most recently she has choreographed for Broadway Palm in Mesa, Arizona and Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She has performed in Me and My Girl, Cabaret, A Chorus Line, and 42nd Street at the Woodminster Theater in Oakland. Dottie also worked as Stage Manager for Woodminster during its summer season for nine years.
Dottie was the director/owner and head dance instructor of the Dance Studio of Mountain View for 10 years. In addition to teaching dance and working as Director of Dance and During School Coordinator for Starting Arts, she also taught for AMTSJ, Notre Dame in Belmont, UC Santa Cruz and works with students at Trace Elementary performing arts magnet school in San Jose, CA.
