"You can dance if we want to. We can leave your friends behind. 'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance well they're no friends of mine"- Men at Work
This is Kris's first year with Starting Arts! Growing up in Scotts Valley she dedicated her youth to taking classes at local studios, competing in many national dance competitions, and studying many different styles of dance. Kris was nominated by American Musical Theatre San Jose's honor program for student choreography in 2003, 2004, and 2005 and was awarded the Governor's Medal for the Arts in 2004. Recently, Kris was the main stage dance teacher (Children's Musical Theater San Jose), assistant choreographed Altar Boyz (San Jose Stage Company), and choreographed Manuel Romero's latest concert. Kris continues to spread her passion for dance by choreographing musicals for local high schools and coaching dance teams for Starting Arts.
