Jaleen Seshadri

Jaleen Seshadri is professional oboe and English horn player new to the Bay Area. A native of Central New York State, Jaleen studied at the Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory of Music,in Boston, MA, where she received her B.M. and M.M. in oboe performance, respectively.
In 2004 Jaleen enlisted in the U.S. Army and played principal oboe with the Army Ground Forces Band in Atlanta, GA. While in Atlanta she performed regularly with the Augusta Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Pops Orchestra and was a regular lecturer at master classes, clinics, and educational outreaches at GA local schools.
When Jaleen isn't chained to her reed desk making oboe reeds or teaching out of her home studio, she enjoys running, cooking for her husband, Raghu, and her two cats, Nona and Yohji. This is the first year she will be teaching with Starting Arts and is very excited about sharing her passion for music with the students in Santa Clara County.
