Tony Panighetti

“Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths pure theatre.” -Gail Godwin

Tony has been a theater arts teacher and a professional actor for over 13 years. After graduating from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts/West he received a Backstage West Garland award for his performance as Mozart in PCPA Theaterfest’s Amadeus. Since then, Tony has performed all over California as well as the high seas of Alaska, Canada, Europe, and the Bahamas with Crystal Cruise Line’s Repertory Theater At Sea. Around the Bay Area Tony has been seen in productions of I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change, Some Like It Hot, The Crucible, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, Ben Franklin In Paris, Forever Plaid, Plain and Fancy, The Student Gypsy, Annie Get Your Gun, The Full Monty, and many others.

In the many years he has spent working as a teacher Tony has taught every age from pre-kindergarten to teen… sometimes in the same day. Although he has worked with numerous local elementary schools, high schools, and educational programs, Mr. Panighetti has spent over a decade as a teaching artist for Children’s Musical Theater of San Jose. His projects have included: studio classes, audition workshops, special needs performance programs, after school outreach programs, and summer camp acting classes. He was also the proud director of CMTSJ’s 2007 Rising Stars production of You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.

Tony feels very honored to be working with Starting Arts and truly thankful to be surrounded by such talent, enthusiasm, and heart.
